A full moon appears as an entire circle in the sky.

Full moon is a lunar phase of the moon that occurs when the Moon is on the opposite side of the Earth away from the Sun.
Full moon occurs when the longitudes of the Sun and Moon differ by 180 degrees; the Moon is then in opposition with the Sun.
As seen from Earth, the hemisphere of the Moon that is facing the earth is almost fully illuminated by the Sun and appears round.
The average interval between Full Moons is about 29.5 days, whilst the length of an average month is roughly 30.5 days.
