Intelligence is a way of reacting towards our immediate environment. How intelligently a person is able to handle his daily life situations it is decided by the level of intelligence. Some people are very smart to handle their immediate environment while some people feel stressed with it. Level of intelligence can also be determined through astrology.

Ascendant denotes self, body. Moon represents our mind. Sun represent soul. Mercury represents our intellect.  In birth chart Mercury is usually found either with the Sun in the same sign or in next sign or in the previous sign to Sun. Reason being Mercury orbits closest to the Sun and is always found within 28 degrees of it. It rules two zodiac sign, Gemini and Virgo and governs the 3rd and 6^th house in the birth chart. 3^rd house represents all matters pertaining to short distance journeys, hobbies, communications, connections, logic, senses, mental ability. As Mercury is the planet of mental energy it governs that part of the brain and nervous system which we need to execute activities related to the 3rd house. It also ensures our survival in the immediate environment.

Mercury represents our mental energy. It decides our capacity to learn, understand and grasping things. Its conjunction with Sun creates beautiful yoga. If this conjunction occurs in the birth chart and if not under any malefic influence and if Mercury is well placed then this gives good results and if this combination causing Raja Yoga then it gives good opportunities and gains in life. Its placement in the birth chart with other planetary position, aspect and conjunction of other planets need to be checked. Jupiter represents wisdom, knowledge. It position must also be strong in the birth chart. 5^th house and its lord also play an important role as it is rule by Sun. 5^th house also need to be checked. Ascendant represents self, our body so it must be strong enough in the birth chart along with the Moon. Moon represents our mind so it must not be afflicted and must have planets both side. Sun is the soul gets strong when have planets both side. As we all know healthy mind resides in healthy body. Until body and mind are strong, intellect can’t work properly. This position must telly with navansh chart also.

Remedies:

If anyone is suffering from weak memory, short term memory, lack of understanding, grasping, or forgetfulness then they need to check Mercury, 5^th house, 9^th house, Sun and Moon and Jupiter strength in the horoscope. Also check the position of ascendant and malefic influence over them.
