Lunar Eclipse 18 / 19 October 2013

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN OCTOBER 2013

On October 18-19 2013 a Penumbral Eclipse of the Moon will take place in Aries sign, Ashwin Shukla Purnima on Friday. Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth and Moon are perfectly aligned. The Earth is sitting in the middle, when the Moon is on the far side of the Earth from the Sun and there is a Full Moon. A full moon occurs when the transit Sun and Moon are exactly opposing one another in the zodiac. A penumbral lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth moves between the Sun and Moon but the three celestial bodies do not form a perfectly straight line. The Moon then travels through the outer part of the Earth's shadow (penumbra). This means that all of the Moon's visible surface still receives some direct sunlight - but the Earth obscures parts of the Sun, as seen from the Moon. The Eclipse will start at 3:18, peak at 5:20 and end at 7:21.The duration of this lunar eclipse will be 3 hours, 59 minutes. Eastern Canada will experience the entire event while the rest of Canada and the USA will see moonrise with the eclipse already in progress. This eclipse will have an impact on Europe and Africa. It will not be visible in India but impact of Eclipse affects the entire Earth.
Linar eclipse tends to signal a time of new opportunities, growth, and optimism. A lunar eclipse is like a full moon. If this Eclipse is going to be occurred in your Moonsign or on your Ascandent you will find a little anxious before and after 48 hrs of lunar eclipse. Eclipses usually herald major endings and/or beginnings, depending on where they occur in our natal birth charts. In all lunar eclipses, we need to check two sensitive points, namely the placement of the Moon and Sun, which are opposing each other. In this case the eclipsed Moon is located in Aries. In Aries, we put our emotions out there for the whole world to see, and we don't care what people think about them. The Sun is in the sign of Libra, wherein he is debilitated. We are able to predict that the energy of the eclipse will most likely be rather negative or challenging being Sun in its debilitated sign. Though Libra is usually a peace loving and diplomatic sign, it will demand justice, fairness.  The Lunar Eclipse in Aries emphasizes the need to work with others and demands some degree of compromise and accommodation. Remember that eclipses can impact us for up to six months. If you're an Aries Sun, Moon, or late Aries rising, you may feel the effects of this moon most. It will be affecting people born with personal planets and points at approximately 20 to 30 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) most significantly.
